Update exhibition on Barrow wind farm
Barrow Offshore Wind (BOW) partners, Centrica and Danish energy company DONG, are holding a second public exhibition as the project prepares to enter a new phase of construction.
Visitors will have the chance to see how the wind farm is shaping up as work continues ahead of the installation of the first of 30 turbines that will provide clean green power to 65,000 British Gas homes.
Personnel from the BOW partners along with the main contractors will be on hand to answer any questions and a six-minute film will be shown throughout the exhibition on the work that has been done so far both on and offshore.
Deputy project manager John Freeland said: "With the next phase of the project about to begin we thought it would be a good time to show people in Barrow how the work was developing and how much had been accomplished.
A lot of work by skilled professionals has been done but getting the eye-catching wind turbines installed is what it is all about and we're very excited. We're expecting first power from the wind farm by the turn of the year."
The exhibition will held between 10am and 7pm on Tuesday, November 22 at Forum 28 in Barrow.
